The challenge was to present monetary policy and the financial history of Louisiana in a format that was distinctly New Orleans; free flowing yet rigorous, bold in design yet elegant in execution, educationally informative yet interactive and fun.

As visitors enter the lobby of The Federal Reserve Bank of New Orleans, they are welcomed by elegantly swirling early banknotes. These floating notes naturally guide visitors from one media interactive to another. “Design Your Own Banknote” and “Test Your Knowledge” quiz games are a couple of the computer interactives that encourage visitors to engage with the story of the financial history of Louisiana and show how monetary policies work.

Rogues and heroes are highlighted as well as scenes from the Mississippi in elegant graphic images. 3-D glasses are provided as give-aways and are used to unveil hidden information within each panel, much to the delight of visitors of all ages.

This latest addition to the Federal Reserve Bank’s illustrious line-up of visitor experiences, the Museum of Trade, Finance, and the Fed is proving to be a stop along the Mardi Gras trail worth taking.

Our success is the result of ONE unified vision executed through ONE cohesive strategy by a multidisciplinary team acting as ONE.
